The results from a first‑in‑human clinical study evaluating the Kitea System have been published in Nature Communic

ations, a peer‑reviewed scientific journal.


This publication reflects a collaborative effort across Kitea Health, the University of Auckland (Auckland Bioengineering Institute UoA), and hashtag#AucklandCityHospital to advance scientific understanding in the management of hydrocephalus. Led by Professor Simon Malpas and an exceptional multidisciplinary team including Dr Bryon Wright, Dr Sarah-Jane Guild, Dr Peter Heppner, Dr Robert Gallichan, Dr Dixon Leung, Dr Sang Ho Kim, Dr Quinn BoesleyMasahiro Kondo, and Dr Daniel McCormick, this work reflects years of effort behind the scenes.


The paper reports on system development, preclinical testing, and early clinical investigation, contributing to the growing body of scientific evidence informing ongoing research and continued clinical investigation in this field.
